Painting in the Forest

This was one of my first murals that I had done for my very good friend.  The family looked through the dining room window on to this large blank garage wall.  I was inspired by the surroundings; seeing deer explore the yard while I was painting, and looking through a children’s book.  The height of the wall was a little bit of a challenge, along with the grooved base.  I have learned more than a few basics on this spacious wall.

Revitalizing of existing back yard fence mural

When I first painted this scene on plywood sheets mounted on a backyard fence ten years ago, I had little previous experience with outdoor murals. The image faded through the seasons due to the ill-suited paint products I used. Now, I am repainting the original image with media suited for outdoor conditions, in the process adding more color and contrast.
